Stanley Glacier Valley

Service Description

Enjoy amazing vistas while hiking up this previously glaciated valley. This 3-4 hour hike gains ~ 400 m elevation and is 8 km return, passing through areas where 500 million year old Cambrian fossils of the Burgess Shale have been found, we practice leave no trace ethics, taking only photos and leaving only foot prints! This is a half day hike in the more remote Kootenay National Park neighbouring Banff National Park. Good for ages 14 and up, minors are required to be accompanied by a guardian. This hike requires a two participants to operate.
